Yes, you should be excited about the Galaxy Note 9. What’s more, widespread reports are in agreement about Samsung’s plans for a surprise early release…
In fairness, Samsung has not been subtle about this.

As early as March, the company was publicly confirming the Galaxy Note 9, influential Korean site The Investor tipped a release as early as July and Samsung recently decided to show the world how ready it is by submitting two variations of the smartphone for public disclosure by the Chinese government.
Both the ‘SM-N9600’ and ‘SM-N9608’ – Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and Samsung Exynos 9810 versions of the Galaxy Note 9 (‘SM-N960’) – will be coming to the massive Chinese market when typically Samsung picks one chipset per region.
Meanwhile, after early rumors that the Galaxy Note 9 might be as disappointingly iterative as the Galaxy S9 there was – conveniently – a sharp U-turn as consistent supply leaks changed the narrative. Now we are told the Galaxy Note 9 will make big battery and camera improvements and become the world’s first mass-market smartphone to feature an integrated fingerprint reader.
